Yes, we know, it sounds crazy and all, but this is actually a true story! British food artist Michelle Wibowo creates little edible sushi miracles and spends all of her days creating an impressive culinary masterpiece.
The ingredients? Foods such as rice, salmon or pickled ginger. The result? Celebrities like Elton John or Ed Sheeran in a different form then the one you’re used to.
It is really fascinating to see how many ingredients there are to make sushi and how they can be used to create intricate details for the face and hair. The creative artist combines smoked salmon, sushi rice, pickled ginger, and other authentic ingredients to create each edible masterpiece. Each celebrity sushi art creation is around 10 cm wide and 18cm tall.
Michelle spent around 120 hours creating the impressive lineup of celebrity sushi art which was then displayed in London at the CasildArt Gallery.
“I’m used to creating sculptures from unconventional materials, but working with sushi ingredients was a whole other kettle of fish!”, said the artist herself. She found her work challenging and even hilarious, we find it totally genius, and everyone else finds it pretty tasty as well.
British food artist Michelle Wibowo would definitely outshine anyone with her sushi works consisting of busts of different stardom personalities! Her work shows how taste and great ideas can work together to create the unique thrill and amuse the audience! Ms Wibowo created the sculptures with the help of Yutaka, a Japanese food brand which provided the ingredients.
Congratulations, Ms Wibowo, we wish we could have a bite of your art!
