Nigiri and Sashimi prepared in a traditional way that’ll leave you breathless is what we recommend. But which one to choose, you might wonder?

First step is to learn the very difference between the two and we’re here to pass down the knowledge! Get some info on these culinary wonders and make your choice just a little bit easier!

Nigiri

Nigiri is a small piece of culinary heaven that consists of rice and raw fish. To be more exact it is a hand-pressed mound of delicious sushi rice topped with a thin slice of raw fish. The rice is often seasoned with just a touch of rice vinegar, sugar and salt to achieve that special flavour you will adore. Seasoned rice then gets united with a slice of fresh fish. Usually it is salmon, tuna, eel or it can even be an octopus! Whatever you choose, the fish or octopus part will then be slightly brushed with soy sauce or topped with wasabi to enhance its flavour.

The fish or seafood can be served raw or can be seared or slightly cooked in some cases.

The term nigiri itself means “two fingers” or “pressed” and it is so because it celebrates the traditional method of forming this sushi by hand. In this case the hand of our experienced chef who can’t wait to show you the immense possibilities and beauties of nigiri! The fresh sea taste of the fish perfectly blends with a tasty rice on  a mission to achieve the ultimate pleasure! Dig in!

Sashimi

Sashimi is simplicity at it’s very best! Contrary to nigiri it doesn’t consist of several elements but relies only on that beautifully thinly sliced raw fish, so fresh you can still feel the ocean waves!

Sashimi cherishes the natural flavour of the fish, without any rice! It is only you and the freshest slices of raw fish presented artistically on a plate and arranged in a special way to display the adorable natural colour and texture of the fish itself. Usually it is tuna, salmon, yellowtail, mackerel or sea bream.

Most sashimi dishes include raw fish but there are variations that include lightly seared or marinated fish. Depends on what you prefer!

Sashimi is also served with soy sauce, wasabi and some ginger on the side. Sashimi is therefore all about the pure taste of the fish and a right pick for those who want their complete focus on the fish our chefs will prepare with an extra ounce of jaw-dropping skillfulness!

So what to choose?

Nigiri and Sashimi represent two different dishes, different experiences, different vibrations and ways to enjoy sushi! But you can’t really go wrong weather you’re in for some tasty rice or you want to enjoy the essence of the fish in an original way!

They will both offer an unforgettable experience you’ll gladly come back to. Time after time! Especially if prepared the way our chefs like to do it – simply delicious!
